How to find a lost pet

 

The First 24 hours are the most important!!

Once you discover that you have a lost Cat or lost dog, you should first take immediate action. Begin by calling the pets name loud and clear. Make sure you cover inside and outside your home. Do not assume the pets left the premises. If your at a park or some type of outside environment, make sure you call their name. Have your fiends and family help. Having a person who is familiar with the pet work along side you, When pets recognize voices their more responsive.

You now need to begin step two, comb the neighborhood. Make sure you have a cellular phone with you incase someone calls with information. Call friends and family to help and split up in different directions. Make sure you search areas that your pet is familiar with. Place Flyers around the neighborhood and in clear site. I found next to stop signs works great. When creating fyers you can either create flyers on your own or in web sites like www.findingyourpet.com, they provide flyers for you.

Next place an ad in your local newspaper and on web sites. Try to place a few ads on web sites. The more coverage the better. Make sure you Contact your local shelter. Very Important!! You want to make sure their aware of your missing pet and have all your proper information. After the first 24 hours continue to search the neighborhood and begin to search out side your area.
